Arsenal vs. Crystal Palace

Sunday, March 19, 2023 – 09:00 AM EDT at Emirates Stadium

Heartache migrated through the Arsenal fan base during midweek action, as Mikel Arteta’s men couldn’t overcome the composure of Sports Lisbon during a Europa League penalty shootout and were subsequently eliminated from the competition.

However, there’s no rest for the wicked, and the surprise Premier League title-chasing package must now focus on maintaining the EPL table’s top position. Perhaps the Europa elimination will be a blessing in disguise. The relaxed schedule will favor them versus a second-placed Manchester City squad that must contend with FA Cup, Champions League, and domestic duties.

Arsenal’s 3-0 league success over Fulham last weekend arrived without a sweat – the Gunner’s fifth consecutive EPL win – as a five-point gap over the defending titleholders remains intact. This advantage could expand to eight on Sunday by defeating a lackluster Crystal Palace squad because Pep Guardiola’s men gear up for the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Crystal Palace

A twelve-game winless run in 2023 saw the dismissal of Patrick Vieira, so a reunion party with his old club this weekend has been canceled. A 1-0 loss to Brighton midweek ended the Frenchman’s time as Palace manager, but at least his team managed a shot on target – something they hadn’t achieved in three straight games on the South Coast.

Palace hasn’t won a game since New Year’s Eve, and overcoming a newly promoted Bournemouth squad wasn’t exactly an achievement to run home screaming about. Furthermore, they sit in the 12th position of the table, just three points shy of relegation without a manager in the dugout.

Premier League Matchday 28 Prediction, Odds, & Analysis

Back in August, the reverse fixture at Selhurst Park provided a routine 2-0 victory for Arsenal. Returning to the Emirates this Sunday with a chip on their shoulder, relinquishing their Europa league position will spell trouble for a lost Palace squad.

The moneyline price on Arsenal isn’t worth backing, but once we add under 3.5 goals into the mix, we can receive a respectable set of odds. Tired legs won’t deliver a plethora of goals, but Arteta possesses a wealth of options on the bench at his disposal to replicate a similar scoreline to the first meeting.

The Final Score: Arsenal 2 – Crystal Palace 0

Soccer Pick: Arsenal Win & Under 3.5 Goals (-135) at FanDuel

Bayer Leverkusen vs. Bayern Munich

Sunday, March 19, 2023 – 12:30 PM EDT at BayArena

Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen welcomes the German champions to the BayArena this Sunday. Still, with nine goals conceded from their previous five competitive home fixtures, an impressive six-game unbeaten run is undoubtedly in jeopardy when faced with the Bundesliga’s elite.

Midweek Europa success will see Leverkusen enter this fixture with a positive level of confidence. As they’re just six points away from the Bundesliga top spot, expect a difficult side to break as they’re primed to find at least a goal or two.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich arrives in Leverkusen with a head-to-head unbeaten record of seven games, winning six and netting at least three goals in 50% of those meetings. Combined with Bayern’s unstoppable form of late – that’s averaged three goals scored in their last four Bundesliga away games and a week’s rest – it’s difficult to ignore the excellent moneyline price.

With Borussia Dortmund and a pack top five positioned German squads hunting Bayern’s top spot, Julian Nagelsmann’s unit understands they’re in a must-win situation to keep atop the division and achieve a record-extending title reign.

Bundesliga Prediction, Odds, & Analysis

The Bundesliga moneyline odds on Bayern are respectable at -165. The Eternal Bridesmaids own the home advantage and a commendable form heading into this meeting, but they’re facing the most talent-rich and in-form road team in the division that’s won 4 of their last 6 on their travels.

Final Score: Leverkusen 2 – Bayern Munich 3

Soccer Pick: Bayern Munich ML (-165) at BetMGM
