Toledo Rockets vs. Eastern Michigan Eagles
Tuesday, February 06, 2024 – 07:00 PM ET at George Gervin GameAbove Center
Coming off a tough loss that cost them a share of the MAC lead, the Toledo Rockets have a chance to immediately climb back into the win column with a trip to take on an Eastern Michigan team that is struggling with just one win in its last eight.
Both Sides Coming Off Losses
The Rockets opened -10½ at top sportsbooks before being bet up a point, and the scoreboard target is 149.
Toledo fell 77-70 last Friday in Akron in a matchup of MAC co-leaders, coming out a bit sluggish in the second half to dig too big of a hole to climb out. Eastern Michigan is returning to Ypsilanti off a 76-66 loss at Northern Illinois in a game the Eagles led early in the second half before going down for the seventh time in their last eight games.
EMU Covered Twice Last Year
This is the lone meeting between the Rockets and Eagles, and Toledo is seeking its 7th-straight win in the rivalry after sweeping both matchups a year ago. Eastern Michigan did cover both losses, however, and both finals came up short of the totals.
Toledo is the better team by far, but the play is for this one to fall short of the NCAAB odds.
NCAAB Pick: Under 149 (-110) at Bet365
Boise State Broncos vs. Colorado State Rams
Tuesday, February 06, 2024 – 09:00 PM ET at Moby Arena
Boise State shares the Mountain West lead with Utah State, and the Broncos are facing a dangerous task to maintain that status with a trip to face a Colorado State crew eager to play spoiler. Caesars Sportsbook (check our Caesars Sportsbook Review) favors the Rams by 5 with 140½ for the total.
Can Rams Avenge January Loss at Broncos?
In addition to the Rams being a solid team in their own right, what makes this doubly dangerous for Boise State is the looming matchup with Utah State this weekend. The Broncos and Aggies are 7-2 in league play, with Colorado State 2 games back and sporting a fine 17-5 mark overall.
Adding yet another degree of difficulty for the Broncos is the Rams seeking revenge after losing 65-58 in Boise four weeks ago. Colorado State was 2-point road chalk, and Boise State took control with a 9-0 run midway through the second half.
The win was the third in a row for Boise State in the series, and left the Broncos with an 18-14 advantage over the Rams. January’s contest finished ‘under’ a 145½-point total, stopping a run of 5-straight ‘over’ winners between the rivals.
Boise 4-0 in Conference Roadies
Boise State had what amounted to a walk-through on Saturday in a 94-56 rout of Air Force. That laugher followed a huge effort at New Mexico earlier in the week, the Broncos pulling away late for an 86-78 decision as double-digit underdogs.
Colorado State is coming off an important win over Fresno State on Saturday, not so much because the Bulldogs are a great team but for it being the Rams’ first conference road win of the year. They are 11-1 at home, 5-5 ATS.
Expect a tight matchup that goes down to the wire, and take the points.
NCAAB Pick: Boise State +5½ (-110) at Bet365
Saint Mary’s Gaels vs. Pacific Tigers
Tuesday, February 06, 2024 – 11:00 PM ET at Alex G. Spanos Center
The best and the worst from the West Coast Conference close out Tuesday’s college hoops card, and the Saint Mary’s Gaels put their 10-game win streak plus 9-0 conference record on the line as big chalk against a Pacific Tigers outfit that is still winless in league play.
Tigers 2-2 ATS in WCC Action at Home
Randy Bennett and the Gaels arrive in Stockton off a huge win at Gonzaga. Saint Mary’s was getting 4½ in that one, and rallied for the 66-64 triumph. Things got a little chippy when Bulldogs fans littered the floor due to a late disagreement with the officials.
While Saint Mary’s was winning its 10th-straight, Pacific was dropping its ninth in a row with a 79-73 setback at San Francisco. Considering the Tigers were getting 22½ points from the oddsmakers, losing by only 6 was something of a victory.
Gaels Have Won 16 of Last 17 Meetings
Coming off a win over a rival always presents an opportunity for letdown. But even if the Gaels suffer a letdown, they should be able to top Pacific after beating the Tigers 76-28 in Moraga less than two weeks ago. Believe it or not, that game was tied 10-10 roughly eight minutes into the affair before the Gaels stopped fooling around to coast to their fourth straight in the series.
Pacific won’t stop the skid against Saint Mary’s but the Tigers will stay inside the number for a winning college basketball pick.
NCAAB Pick: Pacific +21½ (-110) at Bet365
