The Dodgers will play a bullpen game today. Ironically, when the bullpen pitched in Game 4, the Dodgers took off as a unit. Ryan Brasier will likely start the game, but the Dodgers will likely use many different arms.
Still, each arm has been fabulous, and the Mets have really struggled to score early in games in the postseason. The New York lineup has combined to hit just a .315 wOBA against righties over the last 30 days. The lineup also has five players who have struck out at a high rate against righties, and the team really isn’t walking much, either, over the last 30 days.
How The Dodgers Can Get To Sean Manaea
The Mets will throw Sean Manaea tonight. The lefty pitcher has held his last 117 batters to a .147 ISO and wOBA of .271. He’s also added 50.6% of strikeouts and has allowed below 15% of line drives. However, he’s still allowed a .222 ISO and wOBA of .395 to his last 28 lefties. Manaea isn’t earning a high strikeout rate and certainly isn’t getting many swinging strikes against lefties.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers have Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman, who both hit lefties as well as left-handed batters. Those two will be factors in this game for the Dodgers.
