Tonight, he’ll battle Bryce Miller, who hasn’t performed well himself. However, Miller has been a bit unlucky. He’s allowed a .421 BABIP to his last 25 righties, which should easily go down, no matter what kind of hits come at him next.
Miller has a solid track record of success and should be able to pitch through Taylor, who has added just 18.2% of hard contact against righties over the last month.

It’s been an exciting year for Tyler Soderstrom. He’s a right-handed power hitter who has shocked a lot of the MLB. That said, he’s still struck out nearly 32% of the time against righties over the last 30 days as a left-handed batter.
Tonight, he’ll battle Dean Kremer, who has limited 159 lefties to just 24.6% of fly balls. If Soderstrom doesn’t hit fly balls, it’ll be hard for him to show off that power. Plus, behind him in the A’s lineup are five consecutive batters with ISO’s of no better than .148 against righties over the last month.
That’s not so appealing for Soderstrom. Even if he gets on base, without hitting a homer, it’s unlikely he’ll find his way home with the rest of the lineup being weak below him.
