Picks Summary:
- Lightning/Devils Under 6.5 Goals (-105)
- Kings ML (-135)
Using our OddsTrader computer picks we were able to place tonight’s bets based on the information generated.
Our computer’s top two picks across this 12-game NHL card today see us taking on the Tampa Bay Lightning on the road whilst the Los Angeles Kings could be worth laying the juice on home ice.
Tampa Bay Lightning vs. New Jersey Devils
Tuesday, March 14, 2023 – 07:00 PM EDT at Prudential Center
Tampa Bay Look to Improve Road Form
The Tampa Bay Lightning might be 4th in the Eastern Conference and comfortably into the playoffs at this stage of the season but they will be hoping to improve their away form prior to the playoffs as they have now gone just 3-8 across their previous 11 road games.
Taking the Lightning to win on the moneyline this season returns -9.90% ROI and Tampa Bay has the worst road form of all the current playoff teams in the Eastern Conference.
NJ Devils in Battle to Win Division
Both the NY Devils and Carolina Hurricanes are level on 94 points atop of the Central Division, but the Hurricanes do have one game in hand on their opponents.
Although New Jersey has the best road form in the Eastern Conference they have massively improved at home as their current run on home ice has seen them go 9-2 over their previous 11 games.
New Jersey has been in solid form this past few games having now gone 7-3 overall and throughout the entire season have been a solid bet on the moneyline hitting a nice +16% ROI.
The Pick
Our Computer is sticking with the Devils’ strong recent home form and the Lightning’s poor road form with a 3-2 predicted scoreline win for the home team.
With that said we are much more confident about the under 6.5 goals hitting as our computer predicts just five goals to be scored in this game and we don’t believe there to be much value in taking the Devils at -130 on the moneyline.
New Jersey is 21-12 to the under 6.5 goals on home ice whilst the Lightning is 20-12 on the road.
Score Prediction: Tampa Bay Lightning 2 – New Jersey Devils 3
NHL Pick: Under 6.5 Goals (-105) at BetMGM
New York Islanders vs. Los Angeles Kings
Tuesday, March 14, 2023 – 10:30 PM EDT at Crypto.com Arena
Islanders Still in Playoff Race
The NY Islanders can count themselves lucky that the Florida Panthers and Buffalos Sabres have not done much lately because both teams are not that much worse than New York.
The Islanders are just about hanging on to a playoff spot as they are in the final Wild Card spot within the Eastern Conference, but the Panthers and Sabres are 3 and 5 points behind them respectably and have played two and one games less, let’s just say New York needs a few more wins under their belt before they can think about competing for this offseason.
Kings Hope to Get Back to Winning Ways on Home Ice
The L.A. Kings are third overall in the Western Conference and 2nd in their division, with only the Conference leaders Las Vegas ahead of them right now by three points in total.
The Kings have gone 7-3 in their previous 10 home games and had been on a 6-0 streak prior to their 2-1 penalty shootout loss to the Nashville Predators last time out.
The Pick
The L.A. Kings have been a much more profitable endeavor than the Islanders this season producing +4.3 units of profit compared to the Islanders’ -4.2 units.
On home ice, the Kings have had a 20-12 winning record whilst the Islanders have a middle-of-the-pack 9th-best road record this season in the Eastern Conference but overall their away record is a losing one sitting at 14-19.
Our Computer predicts a narrow home win for the Kings and we like are willing to lay the -135 on the L.A. Kings to get back to winning ways at home tonight.
Score Prediction: New York Islanders 2 – Los Angeles Kings 3
NHL Pick: Kings ML (-135) at BetMGM
