After falling behind 2-1 in this best-of-seven series, the Panthers have found a knack for doing precisely what their opponents did in the previous two games – win the close games. The Panthers lost Games 2 and 3 by scores of 2-1 (OT) and 5-4 (OT), respectively, and were long shots to rebound from consecutive overtime losses.
However, Florida is nothing if not resilient and found the wherewithal to counter with two narrow victories of their own, defeating New York in Game 4 by the score of 3-2 (OT), and then on Thursday night the Panthers won again, 3-2, but didn’t need the overtime frame to do so.

The Rangers are on their heels entering this do-or-die Game 6 matchup and it couldn’t come in front of a more hostile crowd. The Panthers have momentum on their side and will have the crowd cheering their every move on Saturday night.
However, here’s something that really turned my head.
According to our NHL odds, the Panthers are dominating offensively and if the Rangers didn’t have an All-World goalie like Igor Shesterkin tending the twine, this series would already be over. Florida has outshot the Rangers in four of the five playoff games by a margin of 33.6 to 25.4 shots per game.
Sergei Bobrovsky is another asset the Panthers have going for them and although he is half a click below Shesterkin, there’s no shame in that. The Cats understand this is their opportunity to shine because a loss would mean a Game 7 at Madison Square Garden, and no team wants their postseason life hanging in the balance at MSG.
