Sunday Morning Football: Best Bets for Week 13

The cover for this Sunday night football picks article shows Trevor Lawrence #16 of the Jacksonville Jaguars dropping back to pass against the Tennessee Titans.

Our Sunday morning football bets feature a lot of great games, including several big division matchups. One of the top games to watch is the AFC South battle between the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars with first place on the line.

With the Colts trying to stop their 2-game slide, let’s go over the latest odds and preview this critical matchup with our NFL expert picks.

Best Bets for Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

For our best NFL Week 14 bets, we’re most intrigued by the Colts (8-4) trying to win in Jacksonville (8-4) for the first time since the 2014 season. It’s been a decade of misery for Indy making that trip to Florida, and coach Shane Steichen is 0-2 there so far, giving up 37 points in each game.

This was supposed to be his best team, and they were for half a year with a 7-1 start and the NFL’s best offense. But things have become stagnant on offense, Daniel Jones is playing through a fractured fibula, and the Colts are 1-3 since.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars are 4-1 since their bye week, they keep winning the close ones, and they are 3rd in the NFL with 20 takeaways on defense.

The Jaguars are 8-1 when they hold teams under 30 points this year, and they already have some quality wins against the 49ers, Chiefs, and Chargers. It’s another tough test for the Colts, who may be unraveling at a bad time after a 20-16 home loss to the Texans.

Sunday Morning Odds (Jaguars +1.5)

This matchup had the Jaguars open as a 3-point home favorite when the NFL schedule came out. But the line has moved to Colts -1.5 even with the team’s recent struggles and historic struggles in Jacksonville, where Trevor Lawrence is 4-0 against them at home.

Both teams are 7-5 ATS this year, but the Colts are only 2-2-1 ATS on the road.

The total is a little above average for NFL Week 14 games at 47.5 points. But the over is just 6-6 for both teams this season. Jacksonville has gone over 47.5 points in 5-of-12 games this season compared to 6-of-12 for the Colts with a few games ending at exactly 47 points.

Sunday Morning Picks

For our Sunday NFL prediction, we’re riding the waves and backing the Jaguars to cover and likely win at home.

They have been a different football team out of the bye week as Trevor Lawrence gets comfortable with his new weapons, and he’s had success against the Colts’ personnel for years. They are also without corner Sauce Gardner due to injury, and the Jaguars have a capable running game to help Lawrence.

On the other side of the ball, even with no turnovers and one sack in the last two games, the Colts are still averaging 18.0 points per game. Jones’ fibula injury is limiting him, Jonathan Taylor’s been held in check, and the Jaguars have the ability to pressure him and create turnovers as they have all season.

The Colts are regressing badly on offense, which is something many predicted would happen because of the career arc for Jones. But throw in an injury and a Jacksonville defense team that believes in itself after many big wins already, and it’s a good formula for an upset to take a nice lead in the AFC South.

Expert Pick: Jaguars +1.5 (-110) at BetMGM

Jaguars’ Jakobi Meyers (Over 53.5 Receiving Yards)

For NFL player props from this game, we’re looking at new Jacksonville wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who was acquired in a trade from the Raiders.

He’s played 4 games with the team, and he’s really stepped up while Travis Hunter is on injured reserve and Brian Thomas Jr. has struggled in his second season.

Meyers has 90, 50, and 64 yards in his last 3 games for Lawrence, usually getting into a good rhythm and throwing for over 200 yards when he faces the Colts, who won’t have Sauce Gardner to shadow Meyers. A veteran receiver who knows how to work the slot and find the soft zones, this is a great matchup for him to exploit the Colts and put up decent yardage in case it does turn into a shootout with a Colts offense that was potent for half the year.

Expert Pick: Jakobi Meyers Over 53.5 Receiving Yards (-110) at BetMGM

Your NFL Sunday Betting Game Plan

For your NFL Sunday bets, the game we’re looking forward to most is the battle for first place in the AFC South between the Colts and Jaguars.

We like the Jaguars to cover the small home spread and continue their mastery of Indy at home. We also recommend Jacksonville wideout Jakobi Meyers to go over 53.5 receiving yards again.
