Manchester City vs. Chelsea

Sunday, May 21, 2023 – 11:00 AM EDT at Etihad Stadium

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City squad welcomed The Blues earlier this year and dismantled them 4-0 in the FA Cup. This will undoubtedly boost confidence levels in preparation for the reverse fixture this weekend, as the Champions League finalists need just three more points from the three remaining games to lift the Premier League trophy.

Wrapping up the EPL trophy hunt as early as possible will be imperative for Guardiola to prepare for his UCL final clash with Inter Milan, and a win against Chelsea will achieve just that.

Watching this squad sail through Real Madrid 4-0 was nothing short of incredible, a victory that extended their unbeaten streak to 23 games in all competitions and 16 consecutive wins on home soil.

Chelsea

Funnily enough, Man City’s current 16-game win streak at the Etihad began with the aforementioned 4-0 win over Chelsea. However, I doubt revenge is on the mind of Frank Lampard and crew, as they’ll be hoping for this season to end in order to focus on next year, with a new manager in Mauricio Pochettino already set in stone.

Show me somebody that told you Chelsea would be in the lower half of the EPL with two games remaining this term, and I’ll show you a liar. Managerial complications, zero consistency, and a second failure under the Lampard experiment have put this “Big Six” club amongst the lower-level Premier League teams.

Premier League Matchday 37 Prediction, Odds, & Trends

The EPL betting odds naturally favor Manchester City, but I believe a wager on the -1.5 spread should be just as comfortable as the moneyline.

Man City has netted at least 3 goals in 13 of their 16 successive home wins, while their weekend visitors have won just 1 of their previous 11 games in all competitions – losing seven games during this stretch.

Supporting Trends

  • Man City is riding a 16-game win streak at the Etihad.
  • Chelsea have won just 1 of their previous 11 games and have lost 7 of those meetings.
  • Chelsea have conceded 14 goals in their last 7 games in all competitions.

Score Prediction: Man City 3 – Chelsea 0

EPL Best Bet: Manchester City -1.5 (-120) at Caesars Sportsbook

Bayern Munich vs. RB Leipzig

Saturday, May 20, 2023 – 12:30 PM EDT at Allianz Arena

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich’s title defense continues as they’re just one point ahead of rivals Borussia Dortmund. A clash versus third-placed RB Leipzig scheduled in the pursuit of German topflight silverware will unquestionably make for a tense encounter as the visitors will fight to keep their UCL qualification position in the table.

The reverse fixture in Leipzig provided an unusual scoreline of 1-1. We’re used to seeing these two sides deliver a plethora of goals, as we’ve witnessed 25 goals netted from their previous five encounters overall. Notably, Munich won four of those meetings.

RB Leipzig

Leipzig’s title chase ended when Munich and Dortmund bridged the gap at the top to seven and eight points, respectively. However, there’s everything to fight for because Freiburg is vying for UCL qualification and are just four points behind.

That said, Berlin and Freiburg would need to win their remaining games without Leipzig collecting a point, and considering their recent form of four consecutive wins in all competitions, it’s hard to envision this end-of-season situation playing out.

Bundesliga Prediction, Odds, & Trends

The Bundesliga betting odds favor the home side, to the surprise of nobody. But in true Munich versus Leipzig fashion, expecting the goals to flow is probably the most sensible betting approach.

In each team’s previous six games combined, 37 goals have been netted. Bayern defeated Schalke 6-0 last time out, and Leipzig have netted 6 goals in their previous two away games. Furthermore, the German giants have allowed 6 goals in their last 6 home meetings, and over 2.5 goals have regularly landed for both teams this term.

Supporting Trends

  • The last 5 meetings between Bayern and Leipzig have provided 25 goals.
  • Bayern & Leipzig have netted 37 goals combined from their last six games.
  • Over 2.5 goals have landed in 4 of the 6 previous meetings between Bayern & Leipzig.

Score Prediction: Bayern Munich 3 – RB Leipzig 2

Soccer Pick: Both Teams to Score + Over 2.5 (-150) at Bet365
