Today’s Pick
- NHL Pick: Boston Bruins in Regulation (+125) at Bet365
Using OddsTrader’s computer picks, we were able to place tonight’s best bet based on the information generated.
Two of the elite teams in the NHL come head to head in this matchup as Boston comes into this game currently on a 6-0 winning streak and 6-1 over their last seven, while the Edmonton Oilers have only gone 2-5 over their previous seven.

Boston Steadies Ship
It seems the Bruins’ “rocky” or cold run of form didn’t last very long as they only went 1-4, with 0-3 being their worst stretch throughout the entire season. Since then the Bruins have been back to familiar ways, which is winning.
Boston is currently on a 6-0 unbeaten run and comes into this game having won 12 of their previous 15 road games. The Bruins still boast the best defense which allowed only 2.09 goals per game and has also had the best penalty kill at 86%. Despite their offense slowing down in the previous month, they still rank third with 3.72 goals per game.
It seems goaltender Linus Ullmark can’t do anything wrong right now, not only is he having a stellar season having allowed just 1.86 goals per game, and a record sitting at 30-4-1, but he also became the first goaltender to score in three years in midweek when he scored against the Vancouver Canucks, who have yet again made the headlines, and not in a good way.
Oilers Need Defense
It’s been a problem for years now with this team, either their goaltending or defense or both has been the problem, never the offense, and especially now more than ever as the Oilers’ offense is having a historical season.
When we say offense, however, we do mainly mean Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, others have played their part but these two are putting up some big numbers. McDavid leads the entire stat chart with 113 points in 60 games played and Draisaitl 88 points in 58 played, both ranked first and second respectably.
Although the Oilers score 3.83 goals per game and have a powerplay hitting at a league-best 32% (which is 7% more than second-best) they do allow 3.28 goals per game and have a bottom 10 penalty kill. The Oilers need to make trades before the deadline or their chance to win the Stanley cup this season could be blown.

The Pick
This is going to be the highlight of the NHL card this Monday night and our computer is predicting a win for the road team at -130 on the Moneyline, but we believe there to be better value in taking the Boston Bruins to win in regulation at +125 with Bet365.
Betting the Bruins has been a much better proposition this season as they have accumulated +12.8 units of profit, and that’s even more impressive considering the juice you would be laying most nights on them.
The Oilers have returned -2.6 units of profit this season and have not been that impressive at the Rogers Centre having only gone 14-11-5 at home, compared to Boston who thrives both home and away, with the Bruins having a 21-6-2 road record.
If you don’t mind laying -130 on the moneyline, go right ahead, but we also do like the Bruins to win this in regulation. The Oilers are dangerous but give us better defense any day of the week at +125 in regulation, and it’s not like the Bruins don’t have a strong offense themselves.
Score Prediction: Boston Bruins 4 – Edmonton Oilers 2
