Using our OddsTrader computer picks, we were able to place tonight’s bets based on the information generated.
With just a four-game NHL slate today our computer’s best selection sees us travel to St. Louis where the Minnesota Wild will hope to get back to winning ways after their recent defeat.
The St. Louis Blues on the other hand have been abysmal since the trading of Ryan O’Reilly and Vladimir Tarasenko going 2-8 in their previous ten.

Minnesota Wild Still in Conference Race
Although the Wild are six points adrift of Conference leaders Vegas, they do have one game in hand (this one) and can reduce the deficit to four points.
Amazingly the Wild can still win this conference, although their current odds are +700 and we personally don’t believe they will, it’s still kind of mind-blowing to think this team has their name in the hat at the very least.
Their recent form has very much helped their chances as they have gone 10-5 over their previous 15 NHL games, whilst their prior 15 games have seen them go 6-9. Minnesota has shot up the table defensively in recent weeks and now has the 3rd best goals against record in the NHL allowing only 2.6 goals per game.
The Wild have picked up a point in their previous seven games on the road having gone 5-2 with both losses coming after regulation.
St. Louis Blues Slumping to Seasons End
Trading away some key assets was the sign of a rebuild for the Blues and their recent performances show that they are now just 2-8 in their previous ten games.
St. Louis has been atrocious defensively this season allowing 3.65 goals per game (4th worst in NHL) and allowing the 12th highest amount of high-danger chances in five-on-five situations.
The Blues have a few strong attacking players they can build their roster around next season, but they badly need to fix their defensive issues. It’s apparent this team is just waiting for the season’s end at this stage as they continue to tank toward the bottom of the Western Conference.
Stats and Trends

- The total has gone Under in 12 of Minnesota’s last 18 games against an opponent in the Western Conference.

The Minnesota Wild are the much better team of the two right now and also have the motive to win, the Wild are in a race to win their division as they currently trail the Dallas Stars by three points and have a game in hand.
Minnesota Wild will be eager to keep their points streak going and our computer is predicting a Minnesota Wild victory. Looking at Minnesota on the moneyline they’re available to bet at -150 although we are favoring the Under 6.0 goals here as Minnesota is 23-10 to the Under 6.5 goals on the road this season.
Combined these teams have accumulated just 5.8 goals per game this season and have allowed 6.2 goals. If you’re feeling brave you can take the Under 5.5 goals for +110 but we are laying the juice on the -120 as we will receive a push for exactly six goals scored.
Score Prediction: St. Louis Blues 2 – Minnesota Wild 3
NHL Pick: Under 6.0 Goals (-120) at Bet365
