Arizona Can’t Win on the Road
Although the Arizona Coyotes have won six of their previous eight games, the majority of those victories were on home ice as Arizona has a 20-11-3 record at home whilst having one of the league’s worst away records standing at 7-22-8.
Amazingly, the Coyotes are just 1-19 in their previous 20 road games, losing six of those in overtime. On top of their away struggles, they have been incredibly bad in their previous three trips to Edmonton, losing by an aggregate score of 21-6 in just three games.
The Coyotes won’t be making the playoffs this year as they are 18 points nearest to the closest playoff spot. It’s not ideal that they are coming into tonight’s game having had one day less of rest than their opponents.
Draisaitl and McDavid Leading the Charge
As we know, the Edmonton Oilers boast two of the best forwards in the world in Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid. These two stars are the leagues two top points scorers combing for 242 points so far this season and making the Oilers the top goalscorers in the league averaging 3.9 goals per game.
On home ice, Edmonton has been very hot lately, going 11-4 over their previous 15 games as well as picking up a point in 14 of those 15 games as three losses were after regulation.
The Oilers are still hot on the heels of some of the Western Conference leaders. With the season closing to a finish, the Oilers could make an unlikely push to win the Conference as they now trail first-placed Vegas by just three wins and still have to play them two more times.
Edmonton also gets to play two more games against the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks, two of the worst teams in the league right now. They should be able to win 3 of those 4 games easily if not arguably all 4.

Taking the over/under total was not in our thinking here as we don’t know if we can trust the Coyotes to put up many goals, and the Oilers should get five but maybe they get four.
At the very least we see Edmonton winning by two goals. For this reason, we are laying the -120 on Edmonton to win by 3+ goals on the -2 PK line. A two-goal victory will result in a push; at the very least we should get a push here.
