The Las Vegas Aces will aim to stay above the .500 mark when they hit the road to face the Golden State Valkyries in tonight’s standalone WNBA showdown. While the Aces entered the 2025 season as title favorites, they’ve failed to live up to expectations and continue to hover around mediocrity.
In contrast, the expansion Valkyries have emerged as one of the league’s biggest surprises, holding their own at an even 0.500 with a rotation built largely from bench players.
Las Vegas has taken two of the first three meetings between these teams, and oddsmakers have them favored by 5.5 points to close out the season series. But instead of betting on the spread, our WNBA picks spotlight three player props with strong value: Chelsea Gray’s scoring, Veronica Burton’s assists, and NaLyssa Smith’s rebounding.
Let’s break down each pick and why it deserves your attention at any of our top-rated sportsbooks.
Las Vegas Aces vs. Golden State Valkyries
Wednesday, August 06, 2025 – 10:00 PM EDT at Chase Center
Is Chelsea Gray Back On Track?
Chelsea Gray scored below nine points in two consecutive games before scoring 11 against the Golden State Valkyries on August 3.
It seems like Gray is back on track, especially after she scored 11 points against the Valkyries and will face them again tonight. In three games played against Golden State, Gray has recorded at least nine points in two of those three.
She’s also averaged 11 points in those three games.
Over the last five games, Gray has attempted at least three three-pointers. She actually took four against Golden State last time out. Plus, she shot 50% from the field against Golden State and took eight field goal attempts.
She’s only averaged 7.2 field goal attempts over the last ten, but took one more shot than usual against the Valkyries. With the same volume and a matchup against Golden State, consider Gray to add at least nine points tonight.
Keep The Assists Coming!
Veronica Burton has earned at least seven assists in two of her last three games.
Unfortunately, she didn’t add a high rate of assists against the Aces on August 3. However, let’s not forget that she’s facing an Aces team that ranks 11th in assists allowed to shooting guards.
The Aces also rank 9th in assists allowed overall, which is clearly below average.
Burton has averaged close to 29 minutes per game. She also turned the ball over just one time against the Aces last time out. We’ll have to bank on her teammates hitting shots at home, but with a spread of 5.5, it seems like both teams should be solid offensively tonight.
Let’s take Burton to earn at least five assists in tonight’s game.
If You Take Just One Bet, It Should Be This One!
NaLyssa Smith has recorded at least five rebounds in six of her last eight games. She’s also averaged five rebounds per game against the Valkyries in the three games played earlier this season.
Smith doesn’t get a whole lot of minutes. However, when she’s out there, she’s a force on the glass.
In fact, Smith has recorded two offensive rebounds per game over the last ten games. She’s also had a game with five offensive rebounds earlier this season.
Since the Aces rank 10th in rebounds allowed to power forwards this season, let’s ride with NaLyssa Smith at Caesars Sportsbook (check our Caesars Sportsbook Review) to earn five or more rebounds tonight.
