The United States Football League, or USFL, kicked off its inaugural 2022 season on April 16, 2022. The eight-team league will play a 10-week season with two playoff rounds in order to determine a champion. The season will end on July 3, 2022.
General Info
The eight-team league will be divided into two divisions: North and South. The former will be made up of the Michigan Panthers, the New Jersey Generals, the Philadelphia Stars and the Pittsburgh Maulers.
Meanwhile, the South will host the Birmingham Stallions, Houston Gamblers, New Orleans Breakers and Tampa Bay Bandits.
You could argue that the Stallions have the biggest fan base as the whole USFL regular season will be played at Protective Stadium and Legion Field, both located in Birmingham Alabama. What is the USFL Schedule and Playoff Format?
The schedule is set up to be balanced in order to ensure fairness for all eight teams. Every team will play opponents in their own division twice in addition to one game against an opposite divisional foe.
