Caesars Entertainment recently announced a new name and a comprehensive makeover of its Harveys Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino located in Stateline, Nevada.
Rebrand Looming
Caesars has announced that the storied Harveys Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino will be known as Caesars Republic, the second Caesars property to bear the name after its Caesars Republic Scottsdale, which opened in March 2024 as the first non-gaming Caesars hotel in the United States. The property will not only have a new name but will also be the beneficiary of several major upgrades.
Harveys has been ensconced in the Lake Tahoe landscape since it was the site of a diner and gas station replete with slot machines back in 1944. Harrah’s, now owned by Caesars Entertainment, bought the property in 2001, and it is joined in the Tahoe region by Harrah’s, Bally’s (formerly Caesars Tahoe then Montbleu), and the Golden Nugget (formerly Hard Rock, Horizon, High Sierra, and Sahara Tahoe).
The company said the new name will go into effect on July 1st of this year, and the $160 million renovation began last October but will pause during the busy summer months before being completed in the middle of 2026.
“This transformation honors the storied history of Harveys while introducing modern amenities and elevated experiences that will redefine luxury in Lake Tahoe. We look forward to welcoming guests to a resort that blends the best of our past with an exciting vision for the future,” Karie Hall, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah’s and Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, said in a statement.
Casino Makeover
The aesthetics throughout the Harveys property will be enhanced, but of particular interest to those who enjoy patronizing the 88,000 square foot casino should know that it too will be remodeled. Everything from the lighting to the carpeting and even the tables and chairs will be changed for a fresh new look. Moreover, new slots will be introduced to the casino floor along with a high-limit section and a World Series of Poker room.
“Lake Tahoe is a stunning destination, and we’re elated to bring a new world-class resort worthy of its allure to the lakefront,” said Anthony Carano, President and Chief Operating Officer of Caesars Entertainment. “The property transformation has begun and will continue throughout 2026 with the all-new hotel tower, hotel lobby, stellar restaurants, and the start of a completely reimagined casino coming online this summer for our guests to enjoy right away.
The Mountain Tower will be renamed the Remus Tower, and it, as well as the Romulus Tower, will get a facelift despite the fact that the latter saw renovations in 2020. Butler service will be introduced for guests in select suites in both towers as well.
