One of the most iconic gaming companies in the world, Caesars Entertainment, has renewed its partnership with the National Hockey League and will remain the Sports Betting and Gaming Partner of the NHL in the United States.
Digital Rights & More
Caesars and the NHL have agreed to renew its partnership in a multi-year deal that will allow the Las-Vegas based gaming company to use the league’s trademarks and logos on its mobile sportsbook app while also granting visibility on Stanley Cup Playoff games in select Caesars markets.
But this new pact also gives Caesars Digital the right to use the league’s intellectual property in its iGaming realm, which will be integrated into its online casino platform in North America.
Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital, said, “With the defending Stanley Cup Champions residing in our home city of Las Vegas, we have a front-row seat to the excitement and passion that the NHL provides.”
“This partnership extension with the League continues our efforts to build on that fan passion by bringing unforgettable experiences to all of our valued customers across both sports betting and online casino,” Hession added.
Building Bridges
Jason Jazayeri, NHL Vice President, Business Development, commented, “Since the inception of our partnership with Caesars, together we have focused on innovative ways to engage our passionate fanbase. We look forward to the next chapter of our relationship focused on delivering unparalleled access to our sport for NHL fans.”
Tier Credits for status and Reward Credits generated by bets placed through Caesars Sportsbook and its online casino platforms can be used for VIP experiences as well as discounted lodging and hospitality at any of the Caesars’ locations for those who enroll in the Caesars Rewards program.
Other NHL Partnerships
The National Hockey League and its franchises are making the most of the post-PASPA environment that has allowed sports betting and iGaming throughout the nation, for those states and jurisdictions that choose to legalize it. The mobile sportsbooks and online casino platform operators are eager to align with the leagues and they pay hefty sums to do so.
Penn Entertainment announced a deal with the league in November 2023 that made ESPN Bet and theScore Bet platforms the “official sports betting partners” of the NHL in the United States and Ontario, Canada, respectively.
ESPN BET replaced Barstool Sportsbook as Penn’s mobile sports betting brand and has aggressively launched in several states since its inception late last year. The deal between Penn’s two mobile sportsbooks and the NHL grants “access to intellectual property rights and media and marketing integrations in the NHL’s programming and activations,” including “marquee NHL events such as the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Winter Classic, the Stadium Series and All-Star Weekend.”
