Finally, Fewer Strikeouts For Seattle
The Seattle Mariners have struck out at an absurd rate this season. Today’s lineup has six batters that have struck out at least 23.2% of the time against righties.
While that’s usually an issue to pay attention to game after game, the Mariners are facing Dane Dunning of the Rangers, who has added just 20.8% of strikeouts over the last 30 days.
He’s also given up a .273 ISO and wOBA of .460 to his last 41 lefties. Seattle should have more lefties than righties in today’s lineup. Plus, six of the nine batters in the projected lineup have hit an above-average ISO against righties.
Cruise Control For Logan Gilbert
With Logan Gilbert on the mound, the Mariners will be in cruise control. Ultimately, the Rangers’ projected lineup over the last 30 days has hit a .149 ISO and wOBA of .227, with more than 21% strikeouts and just 6.4% walks.
Only Corey Seager and Ezequiel Duran have hit consistently in the last 30 days.
