Sacramento Kings vs. San Antonio Spurs
Sunday, January 15, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at AT&T Center
Domantas Sabonis (Sacramento Kings)
- Over 21.5 Points Scored
The Sacramento Kings come into tonight’s game on a three-game winning streak. They’re currently 23-18 at 4th in the Western Conference. Over the course of their 3-game win streak, they put up point totals of 136, 135, and 139.
The Kings are led by the dynamic duo of De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. Both men have another great opportunity to put up huge statistics tonight against a San Antonio Spurs team that has struggled to defend. The Kings are first in the league in scoring at 119.7 points per game.
The Spurs are last in the league at points against at 121.5 points per game. This gives us a recipe for Sacramento Kings players to go over their player prop totals tonight.
The Pick
Domantas Sabonis will have a great matchup against the Spurs’ weak defense tonight. Sabonis has gone over this point total and 5 of his last 8 games. Although Jakob Poeltl is a fine defensive center, he will be no match for the offensively gifted Sabonis tonight.
Both teams play at a high pace, this game has “over” written all over it. With the number one offensive team getting up and down in court against the weakest defensive team, points will be abundant.
NBA Prop Pick: Domantas Sabonis Over 21.5 Points (-111) at Caesars Sportsbook
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Sunday, January 15, 2023 – 09:30 PM EST at Crypto.com Arena
James Harden (Philadelphia 76ers)
- Over 10.5 Assists
The Philadelphia 76ers coming in tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers after a 1-point win against the Utah Jazz on Saturday night. The game against the Jazz marked the beginning of a five-game West Coast road trip for the 76ers. Now they face the league’s glamor franchise, the Los Angeles Lakers.
After a nice little stretch, the Lakers have dropped two in a row to the Nuggets and to the Dallas Mavericks. The game against the Mavericks went to two overtimes. Fortunately for the Lakers, that game was on Thursday night and a team will have plenty of time to recover.
This should be a fun game between two of the most high-profile franchises in the league. James Harden has been doing an excellent job for the Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 11.1 assists per game. Harden has a great shot, but he has been finding his teammates and being an excellent distributor, the logical progression for a guard in the later stages of his career.
The Pick
James Harden has gone over this assist total five games in a row. He had two nights with 15 assists during that stretch. With Tyrese Maxey back in the lineup, Harden has defaulted to becoming more of a facilitator.
Harden’s excellent jump-shooting ability means opponents still have to play him close, and he is using this extra space to take advantage to find his teammates cutting to the basket. We expect another big night from James Harden when it comes to being a good teammate and racking up assists.
NBA Prop Pick: James Harden Over 10.5 Assists (-124) at BetRivers
Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Brooklyn Nets
Sunday, January 15, 2023 – 06:00 PM EST at Barclays Center
Nic Claxton (Brooklyn Nets)
- Under 9.5 Rebounds
The Brooklyn Nets are settling in and finally playing some of their best basketball this season. The Nets are currently 27-14, second in the Eastern Conference.
Their most recent game was a 109-98 loss to the Boston Celtics. The result of this game was not surprising in that the Nets are still missing their best player, Kevin Durant.
A key to that Nets uptick in recent play has been the play of Nic Claxton. Claxton leads the team with 8.3 rebounds per game in just 28.4 minutes. He is also an effective shot blocker averaging 2.63 blocks per game.
The Pick
As impressive as Nic Claxton has been, this rebound total is set too high. It is higher than his season average, and he is only gone over this total once in the last six games, and twice in the last 10 games. Nic Claxton does not get the minutes necessary to go over this prop.
New Nets coach Jacque Vaughn likes to limit Claxton’s minutes and prefers a small ball lineup with Ben Simmons at center. This will limit the opportunities that Claxton has to amass rebounds.
NBA Prop Pick: Nic Claxton Under 9.5 Rebounds (-115) at BetMGM
