The Orlando Magic secured their third victory over the team with the NBA’s best record, the Boston Celtics on Monday night. The Magic won 113-98 against one of the NBA’s best offenses. It was an excellent defensive effort.
Now the Magic seek to win two games in a row against an Indiana Pacers team that just broke a seven-game losing streak with the win over the Chicago Bulls last night. So the Pacers will be on the back-to-back while the Magic are at home with one day of rest.
Number one overall draft pick Paolo Banchero is the leader to be the Rookie of the Year. However, his production has hit a wall as of late. This makes sense as a rookie is not used to the NBA’s intense schedule.

Paolo Banchero is averaging 20.7 points per game this season but has failed to go over the 20-point mark in six of his last seven games.
Banchero is the future of the Orlando Magic, but it’s not surprising after his hot start that he has hit a rookie wall. Not only is his body suffering the wear and tear of playing against the best athletes in the world every night, but now that is his second time around the league, opposing players and coaches have tape on him to study, find his flaws, and build a more effective defensive strategy to stop him.
I expect Banchero to be able to overcome these things but for now, his scoring output will be diminished.

When the Denver Nuggets face the Milwaukee Bucks tonight, all eyes will be on the winners of the past four MVP awards, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic.
The Bucks are coming off 150 points win against the Pistons in a game that reintroduced Khris Middleton to the lineup. Nikola Jokic sat out two games but made his return on Tuesday night in a 99-98 win in New Orleans. The Bucks have had one day of rest while the Nuggets are on a back-to-back.

Using the OddsTrader app, I found the widest discrepancy on the board. Jrue Holiday is listed at over 18.5 at BetRivers but under 20.5 at Bet365! The question at that point was, which way do we go? Over or under?
The decision turned out to be much easier than I expected. Jrue Holiday has gone over this number in five of his last seven outings. His lowest point output during that time was 24 points and he exceeded 30 points twice. Two of those games were without Giannis Antetokounmpo in the lineup, but it still displayed Holiday’s ability to score when needed.
Khris Middleton’s return to the lineup has artificially depressed this number and we will take advantage of it. The Nuggets have struggled against guards all season and tonight will be no different.

The Sacramento Kings are 7-1 and their last 8 games. The play of Domantas Sabonis has been huge as he makes a push to become a Western Conference All-Star. Sabonis has been key during the win streak and I expect his big play to continue tonight.
The Raptors come into this game at the beginning of a west coast road trip. Their last outing was on Sunday when they defeated the New York Knicks 125-116 to end a three-game losing streak. Still, it has been a disappointing season for the Raptors who are sitting at 21-27 on the year.
The Pick
Domantas Sabonis leads the Kings at 7.4 assists per game. Since breaking his hand, he has become more of a distributor. He has had over 10 assists in each of the three games he has played since suffering the injury.
Sabonis is a versatile player who will do whatever it takes to help his team be successful in the offense. As of late, the Kings have used Sabonis as the primary distributor and he has taken to that role exceptionally. Tonight will be no different as Sabonis finds wide-open teammates for great looks against a struggling Toronto Raptors team.
