Ontario-based Betty Slots has recently announced a partnership with the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs and the NBA’s Toronto Raptors.
VIP Experiences
Betty Slots is a well-known iGaming app in Canada, and it recently announced a partnership with Toronto’s professional franchises, the Maple Leafs and Raptors. This agreement will also feature a message about spreading the word about the offerings Betty Slots has available, as well as a responsible gambling marketing campaign.
“This partnership represents a bold step forward for Betty. Partnering with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors allows us to reach fans across Ontario with experiences that are meaningful, exciting, and grounded in trust,” said Chavdar Dimitrov, CEO of Betty.
The agreement begins in October and will coincide with the start of the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 2025-2026 season and will include VIP packages for those who are eligible. The company plans to work with the non-profit organization, the Major League Sports and Enterprises Foundation (MLSE Foundation), to bring community-based support through its partnerships with the franchises.
New Vision
Betty Slots launched in 2023 with the primary aim of catering to female gamblers. However, Betty’s Ontario market business was renamed Betty Canada and became the firm’s first owned and operated franchise, led by Chavdar Dimitrov.
“Betty was built for Ontario,” Dimitrov said in an interview earlier this year. “Very early on, we decided that we would be going after the Canadian regulated market. Every single experiment and fine-tuning of the product was made with the Ontarian customer in mind.”
Co-founder Justin Park believes the Ontario gaming market will be one of many markets in which Betty Slots will be found. He mentioned the United States and Latin America as “exciting opportunities for future growth.”
Aiming for Market Leadership
Dimitrov, Park’s co-founder at Betty Slots, said earlier this year that attacking the Canadian market has been a goal of the company with the aim of being a market leader.
“The growth so far has been substantial, and the exciting part is there’s more market share for grabs,” the franchise’s CEO said.
Ontario is a fiercely competitive market, but the new partnerships will bring name recognition and foot traffic to the Betty Slots platform.
Alberta Market
PlayAlberta launched in 2021 as the province’s only mobile betting platform. It has been run by the government ever since and is overseen by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC). However, the Minister of Service and Red Tape Reduction, Dale Nally, stated at the Canadian Gaming Summit recently that the market was opening to private operators and speculated that the launch would occur in 2026.
“There are lots of you today that want me to tell you about our advertising, about our tax rate, about things like that,” he said. “We haven’t answered those questions yet. So, in terms of next steps, we’re participating in consultations.
“In terms of timeframes, I can’t give you a month, but I can tell you early next year, we’re going to be cutting the ribbon on iGaming in Alberta, and we’re very excited to be able to offer that. We’re going to have more to share with you in the near future,” Nally added.
It would appear that Betty Slots would be very much interested in this new North American market, but as of this writing, all we can do is speculate about which third-party platform providers will enter Alberta.
