According to a press release from MGM Resorts International, the second running of the Las Vegas Grand Prix was a smashing success for the company and the city.
F1 Sizzles in Sin City
F1 auto racing came to Sin City last week for the second consecutive year, and the early reports are nothing but positive. MGM Resorts boasts over a dozen properties in Las Vegas, and the company sold F1 three-day ticket packages for $12,500 apiece, but you would have had to buy early or have a close connection within MGM to get yours late because they were gone very quickly.
Star-Studded Guest List
Celebrities, entertainers, and athletes like Canelo Alvarez, Seth Rogen, Eva Longoria, Chris Stapleton, Big Boi, and many others were MGM guests, and even F1 drivers like Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz, and 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix winner George Russell were part of MGM’s gala celebration.
MGM called itself the “ultimate race weekend destination,” and it is hard to argue with that description considering the many F1 Grand Prix events scheduled throughout its many Las Vegas, Nevada, properties.
Andrew Lanzino, MGM Resorts’ Vice President of Citywide Events Strategy, said, “This weekend was more than just an event—it was a collection of unforgettable ‘wow’ moments for our guests, solidifying its place as one of the most remarkable weekends of the year for our resorts and our city. Thousands of MGM Resorts employees collaborated to elevate the Las Vegas Grand Prix to unprecedented heights in its second year, delivering results that exceeded all expectations.”
Bellagio Fountain Club
The Bellagio is one of the most iconic properties on the Las Vegas Strip, and it is also one of MGM’s stellar locations to watch the Grand Prix. Ticketholders were treated to a bird’s-eye view of the Grand Prix Winner’s Stage and postrace podium celebration. A stunning fireworks display blanketed the sky while Bellagio’s famous fountains dazzled below.
Lanzino announced earlier in the year that the company would be bringing back the Bellagio Fountain Club after a rousing success in its 2023 debut. “Bellagio Fountain Club’s debut at last year’s Las Vegas Grand Prix event surpassed all expectations.” He continued, “Following the incredible reception from our guests last year, the team is hard at work crafting plans for an even more exceptional experience when racing’s most exciting event returns to Las Vegas.”
Postrace Festivities
ARIA Resort & Casino was also a magnet for postrace bedlam as F1 driver Carlos Sainz was in the house at the club bearing his name, Carlos Sainz’s Smooth Operator Dance Lounge.
And at another MGM property, the swanky Cosmopolitan also dove deep into the Las Vegas Grand Prix festivities with a rooftop watch party and a live DJ to get the party thumping.
Needless to say, F1 racing proved to be a boon to the city and MGM Resorts in particular. The Las Vegas Grand Prix has quickly become one of the most highly sought-after weekend events in a city known for going big or going home. And we will likely see it all over again in 2025.
