Top 3 NBA Player Props for April 12: Not Enough Play Time for Valanciunas

We have 2 games in the NBA Play-In tournament tonight. The Chicago Bulls take on the Toronto Raptors and the Oklahoma City Thunder will face the New Orleans Pelicans.

Let’s find the best player props for today’s games using the OddsTrader NBA player prop tool to find the best prices.

Picks Summary

  • Nikola Vucevic Over 17.5 Points (-115)
  • Pascal Siakam Double Double Yes (+175)
  • Jonas Valanciunas Under 12.5 Rebounds (-130)

Chicago Bulls vs. Toronto Raptors

Wednesday, April 12, 2023 – 07:00 PM EDT at Scotiabank Arena

The Toronto Raptors will host the Chicago Bulls for tonight’s 9 vs. 10 Play-In game. The winner will advance to play the Miami Heat on Friday night for the 8th seed and a spot in the NBA playoffs. However, these two Eastern Conference rivals will have to get past tonight before they can worry about the Miami Heat.

The Raptors and Bulls have played each other three times a season with each team winning the home game. That gives the Raptors an edge, but as we saw last night, anything can happen. For the Bulls to win, they are going to need big performances from their stars.

Nikola Vucevic (Chicago Bulls)

Nikola Vucevic averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds against the Raptors this season. Vucevic is an excellent scorer and he can bring Raptor center Jakob Poeltl out of the paint.

Poeltl plays better when he is down low, so Vucevic will take advantage of this by shooting jump shots. Poeltl will be hesitant to leave the paint and Vucevic will take advantage. Our first player prop for the evening is Nikola Vucevic Over 17.5 points

NBA Prop Pick: Nikola Vucevic Over 17.5 Points (-115) at Caesars Sportsbook

In what should be a fun game in Toronto tonight, we have plenty of opportunities to approach this winner-take-all affair. I expect a lot of fun action on the floor as the Toronto Raptors and Chicago Bulls face off.

This game features many players who would be NBA All-Stars if their teams had better records. Players such as Zach LaVine, Demar DeRozan, and Pascal Siakam would qualify for All-NBA status if their teams were higher in the standings. Yet these players can make an imprint on the minds of NBA fans tonight with a big performance.

Pascal Siakam (Toronto Raptors)

Earlier in this article we discussed how Chicago Bulls Center Nikola Vucevic will bring Toronto Raptors center Jakob Poeltl out of the paint.

With Poeltl being out of the paint, Pascal Siakam will have a greater opportunity to grab rebounds. Siakam will be important if the Raptors are to get this victory. Siakam has had a double-double in two of his last three games.

The trends are there, the matchup is there, and this is a good bet. At plus money of NBA odds, we are getting a great price on Pascal Siakam to record a double-double.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. New Orleans Pelicans

Wednesday, April 12, 2023 – 09:30 PM EDT at Smoothie King Center

The Oklahoma City Thunder will be in New Orleans to take on the Pelicans tonight. The Thunder have an excellent opportunity to continue exceeding expectations this season. The Pelicans have a chance to salvage a disappointing season. Both teams will have a lot to play for with their seasons on the line.

The Pelicans are 3-1 against the Thunder this season. The Thunder will try to turn things around, but this is a tough matchup for a young Thunder team. Both teams are young, long, and athletic, so the Pelicans’ experience at crucial positions was the difference during the regular season. Can the Thunder turn things around tonight?

Jonas Valanciunas ( New Orleans Pelicans)

New Orleans Pelicans center Jonas Valanciunas might not get as many minutes as usual tonight. The Thunder will attempt to go small and run Valanciunas off the floor with their quicker players.

While Valanciunas can be effective in the minutes that he’s in there, if Pelicans coach Willie Green notices that Valanciunas is consistently being targeted on the defensive end by smaller, quicker players, he may opt to go small himself.

This lack of minutes will lead to a lack of rebounding opportunities. I expect both teams to play small and quick tonight, meaning Valanciunas might be spending more time than usual on the bench. Our final play for the evening is Jonas Valanciunas Under 12.5 rebounds.

NBA Prop Pick: Jonas Valanciunas Under 12.5 Rebounds (-130) at Bet365
